The  U-20 national women team assistant coach Grace Nyinawumuntu has praised her team for the resilience they put up against the junior She-Cranes in the 2011 World Cup qualifier.

Despite losing the first leg played in Kampala on Saturday 2-1, Nyinawumuntu said the away goal scored would be very crucial in the return leg.

"Their second goal really ruined the hard work that the girls had put in, but we are very confident of beating them in Kigali. The away goal we scored gives renewed hope,” Nyinawumuntu said.

The Ugandans scored early in the first half through a spot kick by striker Habibar Namalwa after defender Clementine Mukamana had handled the ball in the area.

But the visitors replied in the second half through Saida Ntagisanimana, and with only seven minutes to end, defender Christine Wanyana won it for the hosts with a neatly taken free-kick.

But Nyinawumuntu is confident that away goal has given the national side the belief that the tie will be overturned in two weeks’ time in Kigali.

The team is scheduled to enter residential training on Wednesday at St. Paul Recreational center and the return leg will take place on November 7.
