Rayon will win its first silverware of the season with a "home win” over southern province based giant killers Mukura VC, a result which would leave the southerners in real danger of missing out on any silverware this season.

A victory for Mukura, though, would, shatter Rayon’s billing could be in offering today.

The Centenary Cup final showdown at Amahoro Stadium is one of many events that are being held around Kigali city to mark the city one hundred years of existence.

Rayon Sport defeated rivals Atraco 5-4 on penalties to book their final slot after full time had ended in a 2-all draw on Friday.

The Amavubi and Rayon adopted striker Labama Bokota came in as a substitute to steer the ten-man side to the finals of the Centenary Cup tournament defeating the taxi-men club.

Jimmy Kidega had opened the scoring for the blues before Godfrey Osama equalized through a brilliant free kick which left the Rayon custodian Lawrence Webo perplexed.

With Bokota replacing Roger Tchiwasti, it was another comeback for the blues but still bad luck was on their side as Shaka Okello was sent off after impeding Atraco’s Mark Sirengo.

It was Jean Shyaka who bagged Atraco’s second after a defensive mix-up by Bonaventure Hategikimana.

With ten minutes to time it was Rayon’s darling Bokota’s strike that restored Rayon hopes to send the game into the spot kicks.

The surprise of the tournament was in the second match where giant killers Mukura Victory Club humbled tournament favorites Military Side APR 3-2 to book their date with Rayon.

Mukura opened the scoring on the 14th minute courtesy of a Freddie Bowule goal.

However their joy was shot-lived with Jabir Mutarambirwa equalizing for the Army side after two minutes.

Bowule bagged his second of the night on 50th before Javier Bigirimana made 3-1 on the 73rd minute.

Kabange Twite’s 85th minute header made it 2-3 for the military side but this was not enough for the league champions to mount any major challenge against the determined Huye giants.
