AFTER a great start on day one, the league big guns hope to continue that run this afternoon.

League champions APR face Marines, Atraco entertains Electrogaz while Kiyovu play Etincelles.

Though the record champions will miss the services of Jean Mugiraneza alias Migi, Cedric Xavier and Elias Ntaganda, the club coach Erik Paske still expects his guns to come through.

The Dutch tactician believes that fit again striker Abbas Rassou can do the job. The new signing is expected to partner Bokota Labama upfront.

"We are missing some of our key players but I feel we have enough quality in the side to get the three points,” he said.
APR were made to work hard for their 3-2 victory over Police on day one while Marines suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat against Sam Timbe’s Atraco.

Atraco, 2007 league champions have the biggest test of all the top four sides. The taxi-men side is up against a spirited and fighting Electrogaz this afternoon at Nyamirambo stadium.

"Electrogaz is a good team with good players and we know that we have to play extremely well to get a win,” the Ugandan tactician said.

Electrogaz lost 0-1 to Rayon Sport last Saturday but know that they can upset Atraco if they play to their full potential.

At Umuganda stadium, Kiyovu Coach Jean Marie Ntagwabira will be chasing for his second win in as many games against Etincelles.

Kiyovu who edged Marines 2-1 last weekend know that Etincelles will be no easy pushovers. The Western province club is fresh from a 3-1 victory over Amagaju.

Elsewhere, Mukura hosts Amagaju in a Southern Province derby which will be played at Huye stadium. Both sides lost their opening matches and are still looking for their first league points.

New signings Jimmy Gatete and Pekeyake Tuyisenge will hope to showcase their worth when Police play promotion side Musanze at Ruhengeri stadium.

On Sunday, Rayon Sport and AS Kigali face-off in the day’s only fixture. The tie will be held at Nyamirambo stadium.
