Within five minutes drive away from the heart of Kigali city, lies Gorillas Grill Restaurant situated in a safely protected hide out along Rue des parcs in Kiyovu, the heart of the embassy area. At the time we checked in, the picture we got of the place was more than a grill.

Within five minutes drive away from the heart of Kigali city, lies Gorillas Grill Restaurant situated in a safely protected hide out along Rue des parcs in Kiyovu, the heart of the embassy area. At the time we checked in, the picture we got of the place was more than a grill.

Environment

The 150 guest restaurant is well equipped with a modern kitchen and dining, and serves a combination of African dishes and exotic flavours.

The vermilion walls with a classic sitting arrangement in a sparkling white and green décor room of locally made materials, all depict a high sense of respect to hygiene and special occasions.

The menu:

Gorillas grill Restaurant serves both international and traditional African cuisine on a daily routine. The menu includes soup; Tomato, Payson farmer, vegetables and mushrooms.

Cold starters: These are salads in various forms of Mediterranean, Nicoise, sliced bacon, mixed poultry, French dressing avocado, Creole avocado, Parma ham with mango and pink salmon.

Warm starters: Warm goat cheese and honey, mushroom toast, calamari’s roman fashion, shrimps gorillas fashion, evil shrimps and garlic shrimps.

Vegetarians’ taste: Zucchini meatballs, spinash rice lemon, flavoured three cheese macaroni, Napoliana spaghetti and vegetables strew.

Fish: Grilled sword fish, milling tilapia fillet, milling captain fillet, mixed tilapia and captain ousted fashion sauce, turnspit fish, sangala fillet papillotte fashion, shrimps gorillas, evil shrimps and garlic shrimps.

Pork: Cutlet archduke, cutlet Ardennes, pork steak seasoned with green pepper sauce and country sausages marmalades or mayonnaise.

Poultry duck: Turnspit chicken, 1/2 roasted chicken regular with red pepper, Condon bleu chicken scaloppini, chicken fillet archduke, three cheese-filled chicken, chicken legs salad with mayonnaise or marmalade, duck fillet and ananas duck.

Beef veal: Beef pave with sauce, turnspit beef, rib steak with sauce, veal rognon old fashion, milano scaloppini, scaloppini cordon bleu, and veal liver Lyon fission.

Pasta: Napolitano spaghetti, bologna spaghetti, ham mushrooms and cream spaghetti, seafood, three cheese macaroni gratin and tomato meatballs with macaroni.

At Gorillas Grill Restaurant, Children are not spared especially during holiday time when they ask for all sorts of food stuffs.

Kids menu includes: Tomato meatballs, bologna spaghetti, steak salad, French fries, hamburger French fries and chicken legs.

All the above dishes are served with food stuffs that include white rice, pillawo, chips, macaroni and many others depending on the customer’s taste.

Desserts: If you have ever tasted any after meals, this restaurant will not spare you from one. They come in Gorillas cup, dame blanche, dame noir, mixed sherbets, suzette pancake, Norman pancake, French comedy pancake, chocolate mousse, profiteroles, fruits mixed, royal sabayon, coffee and tea, espresso, lemon balm, Irish coffee and French coffee.

The Bar:

The bar’s design is next to a small walled garden, which offers optical nutrition to patrons who frequent the place. It offers beers which include primus, mutzing, mutzing press ion, Heineken, Guinness, Amstel and bell.

Others alcoholic drinks include: Chives regal, bourbon, catty Sark, haig, dimple, Glenfiddich, Jack Daniels, grants, label 5, J&B, Johnnie red, Johnnie black, gin Gordon, vodka, Bacardi, tequila and waragi. Soft drinks include almost, if not all sodas plus fruit juice and sirop.

The staff:

Well gender-balanced, qualified and dedicated; they will not spare a minute before attending to you. They will also not hesitate to mention that "Our selection of local and international products allows us to offer you international food of high quality.”

Clientele:

Both Rwandans and Foreigners with a lean and hungry look, regularly flock the restaurant to dine as they discuss the state of the world.

The prices:

Their buffet (starters, main lunch, desserts) runs for Frw4900, soft drinks are served between Frw200 - 600, beers and other alcoholic drinks Frw800-2800 only.

Toilets:

By the time we visited the rendezvous, they were really very clean. We never doubted their hygiene.

Other services:

The restaurant also provides outside catering services; bridal dinners, graduation, birth day, and anniversary parties among others.
