•Zambia match to decide Branko’s fate

AMAVUBI coach Branko Tucak will face the axe if the national team fails to beat Zambia on November 14th.
The two-sides will face off in a crunch 2010 Africa Nations Cup (CAN) qualifier that will make or break their dream of reaching Angola.

Amavubi currently lie at the foot of Group C with a solitary point and need to beat the Chipolopolo by a two-goal difference to qualify for what would be a second stint at Africa’s biggest football tournament.

The Minister of Sports and Culture Joseph Habineza told Times Sport that Branko’s contract plainly mandated him to take Amavubi to Angola.

"We knows exactly what was asked of him. His task was simple; to qualify Rwanda to the 2010 CAN. Presently, we still have a chance.”

However, should the team fail to reach Angola, he will have failed in his task and appropriate action will be taken,” the minister warned.

Habineza also castigated Amavubi players for not showing enough fighting spirit during the final qualifying round.
He said, "The enthusiasm was not there especially in the first leg against Egypt.

"We conceded a goal in the 67th minute and immediately after that, some players switched off. I found that very unprofessional,” he moaned.

Algeria lead the group with 13points, followed by African champions Egypt with 10 points, Zambia is third with 4 points, three clear of Amavubi.

Zambia were CAN finalists in 1974 and 1994.
