WITH less than three weeks to the Hima-Mak10-aside rugby tourney, the national men’s rugby team- the silverbacks is scheduled to play two friendly matches against last year’s champions and runners-up Buffaloes and Sharks respectively in a bid to increase their match fitness.
WITH less than three weeks to the Hima-Mak10-aside rugby tourney, the national men’s rugby team- the silverbacks is scheduled to play two friendly matches against last year’s champions and runners-up Buffaloes and Sharks respectively in a bid to increase their match fitness.
According to Silverback’s head coach Jean de Paix Hategekimana, the matches will be used to select the final 15 from the provisional 24-man team that has been under intensive training.
17 teams from Rwanda, Kenya, Zambia, Zimbabwe and the hosts Uganda will be vying for honors at the 16th edition of the competition. The annual tournament slated for November 7-8 at Makerere Impis ground is sponsored by Hima Cement factory.
Tournament winners will pocket Rwf4m while the second team will pocket Rwf2m courtesy of tournament sponsors Hima cement factory.
