RWANDA football federation, Ferwafa is bound to take tough measures on Rayon Sport’s trio; Marcel Lomami, Abdul Uwimana and Theoneste Muhayimana, Times Sport reports.

Rayon Sport General Secretary Olivier Gakwaya yesterday revealed that the trio has been denied playing licences after deserting the club during the Pre-season football tournament-the curtain raiser for the 2009/10 national league.

Reliable sources disclosed that the players missed the tournament because they were busy playing for Bukavu Duwa in DR. Congo’s Coupe de Congo.

"For now, they have been denied their licenses because the FA is still carrying out their investigations,” Gakwaya said.

"As a club, we had decided to pardon them but things have taken a new twist following Ferwafa’s involvement.”
If found guilty, the players could be banned or fined.

Gakwaya is however keen that the investigations are fast because he concedes that they can’t afford to play without the trio for long.

"They are very important players for this club and we are hoping that the investigations don’t take long.”

Uwimana, Lomami and Muhayimana signed two-year contracts with the Blues last season.

In 2007, players like Rayon’s Albert Nyumbayire and Atraco forward Abedi Mulenda featured for Bukavu Dawa in the same competition but escaped charges because Ferwafa did not know about it.
