New members join RPF

GATSIBO - One hundred and thirty nine residents of Muhura sector, in Gatsibo District, last week declared their allegiance to the Rwanda Patriotic Front-RPF Inkotanyi. The new members were received by party officials during the celebrations to mark the party’s achievements in the sector.

GATSIBO - One hundred and thirty nine residents of Muhura sector, in Gatsibo District, last week declared their allegiance to the Rwanda Patriotic Front-RPF Inkotanyi.

The new members were received by party officials during the celebrations to mark the party’s achievements in the sector.

The new comers bring the party members to 12,340 in Muhura sector alone.

Speaking at the function, the sector party president, Victoria Mukamwezi, said that the party has made a lot of tremendous achievements and members were praised for the big role they play.

She thanked residents for initiating a new housing programme aimed at getting rid of grass-thatched houses, noting that it was a remarkable step in achieving rural development.

During the ceremony, members commended local leaders for being able to resolve their social problems.

"Party leaders strived to ensure that every resident’s problem is solved. We are extremely happy for their continuous efforts in treating Rwandans equally,” Alex Musabyimana, one of the members said.

In her speech, the district party chief, Bernadette Upfuyisoni, hailed the members’ achievements, challenging them to be more innovative in order to attain rapid development.

At the same function, residents who were the beneficiaries of the  One-cow –per family programme passed on off calves  to their neighbours.
