KCB shares retreat

Last week Rwf76,500 from 500 KCB shares traded in one transaction at the price of Rwf153. The KCB shares closed at Rwf153; a decrease of Rwf9 from the previous week’s closing of Rwf162.

At the end of the session, 11,215 shares were on offer and no buyers.

On the Nairobi Stock Exchange, KCB shares hit a low of Ksh19.00 (Rwf144) on Wednesday to bounce back to Ksh20.00 (Rwf152) on Thursday and close at Ksh19.55 (Rwf148).

The volumes were also slightly lower compared to the previous week.  At the close of business on Thursday, the NSE All share index rose 0.26 points to close at 66.16.

Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) and Uganda Securities Exchange (USE) did not trade KCB shares.

The Bond Market:

On the bond market no transactions were recorded.  At the close of the business, Rwf 2 billion worth of Government bonds were on offer (sellers) at Rwf 99.8 and there were two bids (buyers) of Rwf 2 billion and Rwf 5 million for the same bonds at 94.00 and 97.80, respectively.

There were also BCR bank bonds worth Rwf 150 million on offer at Rwf 100.50.
