ZAMBIA national head coach Herve Renard has vowed not to step down amid growing pressure for local fans.

According to Zambia’s Post, Renard said, "I have no plans of resigning, but to focus on the next game, which will help us qualify for next year’s CAN.”

Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) President Kalusha Bwalya insists that it is important that the Chipolopolo coach qualifies the team to Angola by wining next month’s qualifier against Rwanda.

Asked about Renard’s future if he fails to qualify the team to the Africa Cup, Bwalya said;

"I don’t want to talk about things which have not happened, lets wait for the game.”
Bwalya also challenged the national team players to be ambitious.

"What is the ambition of the players themselves? Their ambition is also critical to the overall goal,” the former African Player of the year said.

Despite losing their last three qualifiers, Bwalya still believes that Group C’s final CAN slot belongs to the Chipolopolo.

"Technically, Zambia is in the Africa Cup,” he said.

Although a draw would do it for Zambia, Bwalya insists that the team will go for a win in Kigali.

"We shall not travel to Rwanda for a draw but a win and a good one at that.”

Rwanda host Zambia in the last 2010 World and Africa Nations Cup qualifier next month, a game the Amavubi Stars need to win four clear goals to qualifier for next January’s Nations Cup in Angola.
