AFTER back to back golds in his last two races, Rwanda’s long distance ace Dieudonne Disi has now switched his focus to the IAAF silver label road race dubbed Classique Internationale Marseille-Cassismoreless.
Disi confirmed recently that he will compete in the October 25 race as he continues his build up for more lucrative championships in the future.
Classique Internationale Marseille-Cassismoreless, a regular event on the French Athletic Federation and IAAF is also listed on the world’s top 50 races.
With huge cash prizes on offer, over 12,000 athletes are expected to grace the race.
Disi, who swept the Paris 20km race on Sunday, will be eyeing a third gold in Marseille.
Last month, the 29-year-old secured his first gold of the season after winning the 10,000m event at the 2009 Francophone Games.
For his heroics, he was later named athlete of the Games and consequently awarded the ‘Assemblée Parlementaire de la Francophonie’ medal by Lebanese first lady Wafaa Sleiman.
On top of the medal, Disi pocketed Rwf7.5m and was also promised free air-tickets for the next two years.
