Miss Kigali Institute of Education (KIE) 2008 has blamed the institute for her failure to implement the students’ charity work.

In an interview with The New Times, Nazia Mutungirehe, castigated the school’s administration for doing nothing in terms of financing the programmes she had presented to the school.

Mutungirehe whose reign has expired, also attributed the failure to misunderstandings within the school administration owing to the new administrative structures.

She revealed that upon presenting her budget to the Dean of Students, she was instead directed to go to SUKIE (Student Union of Kigali Institute of Education) to cater for the programmes.

She explained that the union is funded by the school; therefore its Head directed her back to school administration.

"Our plans included sensitizing students in Gasabo district early pregnancy, prevention measures of HIV/ Aids among others,” she said.

When contacted the Dean of students, Anthony Bizumuremyi, attributed the failure to administrative changes.

"The new Vice Rector for Administration and Finance never considered the budget of the Miss upon presenting the issue,” he said.

However, Bizumuremyi explained and promised that such things will not happen again.
