NYAGATARE - School head teachers in the sectors of Gatunda, Mukama and Tabagwe in Nyagatare District have been warned against misusing donations from the Adventist Development Relief Agency (ADRA-Rwanda).

The donated items include four desk top computers, one television and radio sets with solar installations.

At a meeting held between ADRA and school authorities in Gatuda sector last Friday, it was however, revealed that the solar energy panels provided were not effective.

However, the ADRA project manager in Nyagatare district, Laban Rutare pledged to find a solution to the problem.
"One of our commitments is to help the government in promoting the education sector.

If the donation we provided is not fully functional then we shall sit as ADRA to see how we can come up with a relevant solution to the problem,” he said.

Didace Dusabemungu, the Gatunda Sector Executive Secretary, also reaffirmed the sector’s commitment to  helping schools.

"One solar energy panel cannot provide power to support four computers…we shall sit as the advisory council and use available resources to support this cause,” he said.

The director of Education, culture and sports at the district, Silvestre Mutabaruka urged beneficiaries to always seek possible ways of complementing such donations.
