The long distance ace bowed out of the championship after failing to secure a British visa and will now compete in Sunday’s Paris 20km race.
"I have not trained with Rukundo [Sylvain] and Simuceka [Jean Baptiste] of recent but I know that in such events, it’s very tough and you need to be at your best to make an impact,” the 29-year-old, who was recently named 2009 Francophone Games athlete, said.
Rwanda’s team comprises of Sylvain Rukundo, Gervais Hakizimana, Eric Sebahire, Jean Baptiste Simukeka and Claudette Mukasakindi.
Disi was Rwanda’s top performer in last year’s edition held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil after finishing sixth with a time of one hour, three minutes and three seconds.
In 2006, Disi finished 9th in Debrecen. A total prize purse of $245,000 will be paid by the IAAF to sixth-placed individuals and teams respectively.
