Residents welcome bridge construction

HUYE – Residents of Rwaniro sector have welcomed the construction of a bridge and a road linking to neighbouring sectors, stressing that it will improve movement of people and goods. The sector has for long been cut off from the rest of the district by a large permanently flooded marshland that made it difficult for people to cross especially in the rainy season.

"Those who could not afford boats to cross had to endure travelling to Nyamagabe en route to Huye,” said Epiphanie Uwamahoro, a resident of Rwaniro.

We are grateful to the government for honouring its promise to have this road and bridge fixed, she added.

Jean Marie Vianney Munyanziza, the district officer in charge of infrastructure said that once completed, the infrastructure will play a great role in the development of the four sectors it will connect.

The construction is funded by the President’s office and Action Agro-Allemande Cooperation in collaboration with Huye District.
