CECAFA and MTN Peace Cup champions Atraco have been told to cough Rwf56.5m for the signatures of Simeon Masaba and Hannington Kalyesubula.

The SC Villa pair has been high on the taxi-men club transfer list but the club could now back down after the Ugandan club’s outrageous prices.

"We have agreed personal terms with the players but are now being frustrated by SC Villa. Their asking price is way too high. While they want Rwf56.5m, we are only willing to pay Rwf3.97m,” Ngeze said.

"If we fail to reach a negotiable deal soon, we shall look elsewhere,” he added.

Villa captain Masaba is rated at Rwf41.5m while goalkeeper Kalyesubula is priced at Rwf.17.8m.

Atraco consider Kalyesubula a perfect replacement for Jean Luc Ndayishimiye ‘Bakame’, who recently joined league champions APR.

On the other hand, Masaba is expected to reinforce the defense which lost Charles Kawuma to Rayon Sport.
Atraco who recently signed Richard Kamoga are also said to be on the verge of sealing a deal for another Ugandan Peter Ssenyonjo.

Other new signings at the club include APR’s winger Djabir Mutarambirwa and Mukura’s midfielder Daddy Birori.

Last season, Atraco came very close to winning a treble only to be frustrated by APR. The army side pipped them to the league title on goal difference.

But the team will still represent Rwanda at next year’s Africa Confederations Cup.
