Amavubi Stars set off for Blida

RWANDA’S Amavubi Stars depart for Algeria this evening ahead of Sunday’s make or break 2010 Africa Nations Cup (CAN) qualifier against Algeria.The October 11 tie will be played in Blida. The team which departs aboard Ethiopian Airways at 4pm will have two stop overs at Addis Ababa and Paris before connecting to Algeria tomorrow afternoon.

RWANDA’S Amavubi Stars depart for Algeria this evening ahead of Sunday’s make or break 2010 Africa Nations Cup (CAN) qualifier against Algeria.The October 11 tie will be played in Blida.

The team which departs aboard Ethiopian Airways at 4pm will have two stop overs at Addis Ababa and Paris before connecting to Algeria tomorrow afternoon.

The team comprising of 15 local players will be joined by eight professionals in Algeria.

The professionals include; skipper Hamad Ndikumana (AEL Limassol), Boubakary Saddou (Ahly Tripoli), Said Abed Makasi (Difaa El Jadida), Didier Kapet Kouin (Libya), Louis Aniweta (Nea Salamina Famagusta), Cyrille Agnini Kouame (Tunisia), Edwin Ouon (AEL Limassol) and Jean Paul Lutula (FC Brussels).

Amavubi need to win to revive their fading hopes of making the Angola trip next year.

Till date, Algeria top the group with 10 points, African champions Egypt have seven, Zambia have four, three clear of bottom placed Rwanda.
