GICUMBI—Science teachers hailing from government and private secondary schools in Northern Province are undergoing a one-week science workshop at Groupe Scolaire Notre Dame du Bon conseil, in Gicumbi.

The workshop opened officially on Friday November 9 with each government school sending three teachers and one teacher from each private secondary school.

According to Aaron Habarurema of the national curriculum development centre, 42 science teachers who recently attended a similar workshop countrywide and in Belgium shall conduct the workshop to pass on the knowledge to others.

"The workshop is aimed at equipping teachers with new scientific applications currently in use worldwide,” said Habarurema. Similar workshops are underway at six centres across the country.
