ALGERIA Coach Rabah Saadane has called up 22 players to start preparations for next Sunday’s World Cup qualifier against Rwanda in Blida on October 11.
According to DZfoot.net, Nantes’ Djamel Abdoun and Portsmouth’s duo Hassan Yebda and Belhadj Nadir have earned debut call-ups in the Fennecs side at the expense of Rabie Meftah and Hocine Achiou.
On the other hand, Amavubi start residential training tomorrow.
After watching a couple of matches in the Pre-season tournament, Amavubi head Coach Tucak Branko feels he is in a good position to name his provisional squad.
Although former Amavubi skipper Olivier Karekezi is set to miss the clash, Branko can afford to smile following the return of his midfield trio; Patrick Mafisango, Mbuyu Twite and Jean Baptista Mugiraneza.
The trio missed Amavubi’s harsh 1-0 home defeat against Egypt. Mafisango and Mbuyu were suspended while Mugiraneza was left out after failing to recover from a toe injury.
Karekezi is ruled out after undergoing a thigh surgery.
