The Minister of Sports and Culture, Joseph Habineza, yesterday urged staff of the National Commission for the Fight against Genocide Ideology [CNLG], to avoid complacency and meet the institution’s intended targets.

Habineza made the call during the signing of performance contract with Christine Tuyisenge, CNLG’s Vice chairperson at the commission’s premises.   "Everybody has challenges and has to achieve goals. You have to reduce complacency and act on decisions,” the minister told staff.

He commended the achievements of the commission in just one year of its existence, and hoped they accomplish their set mission of uprooting the cancer of Genocide.

He said that there will be quarterly reviews to determine achievements and challenges.

Mucyo Jean de Dieu, the Executive Secretary of CNLG, said that they are faced with skills gap that are a hindrance to meeting their targets.

"We have a serious skills gap. We need trainings to help us better  preserve the remains of victims.,” he said.
