The reason many patients in some Kigali hospitals have suffered at the hands of medics is because they deal with unqualified people. The insensitive handling of patients only works as a cover up for their inadequate knowledge.

Therefore, the move by government to probe nurses who have forged academic papers deserves applause. The government has taken a step to use the professional nursing council to monitor and ensure that medical practitioner’s ethics are up held.

This habit of forging starts at an early stage of cheating in exams at school. It is for this reason that the probing should not only be limited to the medics’ profession but every other institute should be investigated such that this bad conduct can be successfully done away with.
