Diaspora commends bold gov’t business reforms

The Rwandan Diaspora has commended the government for its remarkable progress in transforming the Rwandan economy that has won global acclaim.

The Diaspora, under its umbrella organisation, Rwanda Diaspora Global Net-work (RDGN), congratulated the government under the leadership of President Paul Kagame.
"We are proud and happy to congratulate the Rwandan Government on the recent achievement of being the world’s top reformer in the World Bank Doing Business 2010 report” said a statement signed by the network’s chairman, Gustave Karara. 

They also praised government on the recent recognition by Transparency International and the World Bank for its strong commitment in fighting corruption.

The Diaspora note that government’s zero tolerance on corruption is a signal of good Governance and an incentive to those who are willing to invest in the country.

"We find this to be important in our efforts to mobilize and do business in Rwanda.”

Rwanda registered the best massive reforms worldwide in starting a business, dealing with construction permits, registering property, getting credit, employing workers, protecting investors, trading across borders and closing business,. Rwanda also emerged as the most consistent reformer, moving from 143 last year to 67 in the rankings.
