Ferwaka Secretary General said that the Foundation has played a big role in promoting good values in the youth of Rwanda by bringing them together since its formation way back in 2000.
Samuel Niragire made the remarks at the closing of the inaugural edition of the Mosaic Foundation-sponsored Karate competition at the national level which took place at Lycee de Kigali over the weekend.
The local NGO with roots from the Norwegian Embassy in Kigali sunk Frw2 millions into the competition which attracted 12 clubs from all parts of the country.
"They (Mosaic Foundation) have a good initiative aimed at uniting the youths and promoting their talents.
"And so we shall continue working with them in their endeavors to promote the youths of this country through various activities,” said Niragire.
Niragire noted that Rwanda boosts of good karate players who, if given support, could go on to dominate the region and beyond. "But we lack finance to facilitate our programs,” he cried out.
Mamaru-Kicukiro were the overall winners after dominating the two-day event in the Kids’ open best known in the karate language as ‘Kumite’. They also dominated in the Kata event.
Niragire took time off to appeal to other private and public institutions to follow Mosaic Foundation in supporting the youth of Rwanda realize their potential be in sports, music, dance, drama among other activities.
According to Francois Mugabo, Mosaic Foundation president, they have been working with Ferwaka at the local levels by way of helping individual clubs.
