Rwirangira’s own composition One Africa, a song in which he urged Rwandans, East Africans and the whole world to unite, did the trick earning him the immunity from probation.
With thirteen days to go to the conclusion of Tusker Project Fame 3, Rwanda’s Alpha Rwirangira put up yet another great performance to be saved from probation for eviction slated for this weekend.
Rwirangira’s own composition One Africa, a song in which he urged Rwandans, East Africans and the whole world to unite, did the trick earning him the immunity from probation.
According to the judges, the Kinyarwanda, Swahili and English reggae composition carried the day.
The straight talking and respected theatre thespian, Judge Ian Mbugua, was full of praises for the 23-year old contestant.
"Alpha means number one and today you are just that,” said Mbugua who has on several occasions commented that Alpha’s strongest genre is African music.
The Academy’s Principal, Musician Achieng Abura announced that the faculty agreed unanimously with the judges on the decision to grant Alpha immunity.
Save for the Rwirangira, the other five contestants were put on probation.
Yesterday confirms a new astonishing trend for the Rwandan contestant who has been on probation only once by moving him into the league of the competition’s favorites. His song writing skills are however a new feather in his cap.
Tanzania’s judge Hermes Joachim said that Alpha was bound to be superstar while Singer Juliana also lauded Rwanda’s new musical pearl. "Am so proud of you, you are a brand ready to sale records and change the world.”
Alpha’s One Africa hit will also stands out for this brave and reconciliatory tone in which he sings that the togetherness of Rwanda’s peoples.
His latest antics in Nairobi come hot on the heels of an outstanding boost to his hopes of musical stardom when the academy fans voted overwhelmingly to save him from eviction on Saturday.
