Senate discusses cooperatives
The Upper Chamber of parliament on Wednesday met to discuss policies concerning the control of cooperatives and how they can be developed.

The commission in charge of cooperatives revealed that most of the people subscribing to cooperatives take them as associations while others rush to form cooperatives without clear ambitions.

The streamlining of the cooperatives in the country will enable the members get better benefits. 

MPs to inspect institutions of learning

A five-members parliamentary committee is set to inspect all institutions higher education following different complaints within the institutions. 

This was agreed upon on Wednesday by the Lower Chamber of Parliament.
The commission was given 2 months to have a report on the current situation in all the institutions.

Road repairs to take two years

Renovation works of different roads in Kigali that are in poor state will take 21 months to be complete.

This was revealed by the minister of Infrastructure, Linda Bihire who said that the repairs on 36km roads will cost $30 million (Rwf17 billion).  She added that the repair started with Kanombe road and will be followed by Nyamirambo road.

District officials discuss family planning

Officials in Rusizi district are holding a 1-week workshop with the residents in Nyakabuye sector to brief them on the importance of family planning.

During the workshop that started on Tuesday, the district officials said they will go around all sectors of the teaching the residents on family planning.

The district officials urged residents to have families they can cater for.
