I would like to congratulate Bank de Kigali on its recent opening of branches on the Rwandan border posts. This is true professionalism and in line with the government’s aim of easing doing business in Rwanda.

However, we in the business community would be grateful if you ( BK) went ahead and introduced RRA cheque certification on weekends, since these branches are also open for business on these days.

It is very embarrassing when RRA, playing its role of clearing your goods very fast, tells you to pay the relevant taxes; when this happens you are told that banks don’t certify cheques on weekends, leaving you in a dilemma.

This message should be heeded by other banks, as BK isn’t the only bank that has this problem.

Doing business in Rwanda will be much easier and we might jump from the current World Bank ranking to the best 10 countries in the world.
