IN the next few days, Emmanuel Ruterana’s sponsorship woes could be a thing of the past after reports that Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) has agreed to bankroll the professional golfer.

Since February when the 27-year-old parted ways with his long-time sponsors Rwanda Commercial Bank (BCR), he has struggled to play in some of the region’s big tournaments.

"It has been hard to play in some of the big tournaments but I think I have reason to smile now that KCB have come on board,” he said.

"We have not talked about anything yet but I’m optimistic that we shall reach a good deal,” he added.

Louis Kamanzi, the Kigali Golf Club public relations officer also said that the development was timely and that it would go a long way in helping Ruterana improve his game.

"Ruterana is a member of South Africa’s Sunshine tour so he is going to sit down with KCB and see which tournaments to play in,” he said.
