Week 9 of the 2022/23 Rwanda Premier League recorded 25 goals, the highest so far in the competition this season.

Games involving Etincelles, APR, and Gorilla all produced five goals whereas the top of the table clash saw Kiyovu outplaying and defeating Rayon Sports 2-1.

Kiyovu Sports ended the unbeaten run of Rayon Sports in the week 9 top liner with a 2-1 win. The Green Baggies were 2-0 up before half time with goals from Ismail Nshimirimana and Bievenue Mugenzi before Leandre Onana reduced the deficit in the 87th minute through a penalty.

Mukura Victory made a triumphant return to the Huye Stadium with a heavy win as they thrashed Rutsiro FC 3-0. Djibrine Akuki netted a brace with Iradukunda Elie adding one more.

Elsewhere in the local derby in Kigali, Gorilla FC beat Gasogi 3-2. Maxwell Ndjoumekou scored twice for Gasogi whereas Ademola, Simeo and Protais were on target for Gorilla.

At the Ngoma Stadium, Rwamagana City picked maximum points at home with a 1-0 victory over struggling Marines FC. Nicholas Kagaba netted the solitary goal in the 45th minute.

Espoir came to Nyamata to hold Bugesera to a 1-1 draw. In form Nigerian striker Samson Okechwuku broke the deadlock of the game in the 17th minute before Seth Nkurunziza converted a penalty to restore parity for Bugesera.

It was a match worth watching at the Umuganda Stadium in Gisenyi as Etincelles came from 2-0 down to defeat Musanze 3-2. Peter Agblevor and Eric Kanza Angua were on target for Musanze whiles Moro Sumaila, Amani Rutayisire and Daniel Izabayo scored for for Etincelles.

APR FC survived a late scare from Sunrise FC to win 3-2 on Sunday at the Kigali Stadium. The defending champions were leading 3-0 as at the 90th minute with goals from Bosco Ruboneka, Yves Mugunga and Gilbert Mugisha before Adolphe Hakizimana and Yafesi Mubiru scored for Sunrise in the 92nd and 93rd minute respectively to end the game 3-2.

Police FC pipped AS Kigali 1-0 in a keenly contested game. Paccy Niyosenga scored the winner in the 15th minute.
