Romance has been at the heart of the week in showbiz, as some celebrities expressed their admiration for their loved ones on social media while others made it official to the public.
There were also stories of feud however, as some artists were involved in an online battle over who is superior in music.
Below are the showbiz stories that trended most last week.
Miss Amanda Akaliza unveils boyfriend
"With you there’s only peace, with you being soft feels safe, with you I am certain God is real and makes no mistakes. I love you my [man and love emojis]” were the words that Miss Rwanda 2021 first runner-up Amanda Akaliza used on her Instagram page to describe the love she has for her boyfriend with whom they are seen in the photo together hanging out at home.
It remains unknown how long the duo has been in love as they kept their relationship private and away from the media until the beauty queen made the post to make her statement official.
Akaliza becomes the latest beauty queen to make her relationship public with Miss Rwanda 2020 Naomi Nishimwe and her boyfriend Michael Tesfay now sharing their relationship on social media.
One of Mackenzie’s girls got engaged
Pamella Loana, one of the Mackenzies, the brains behind Zoi Fashion House, is engaged. The group is celebrating the step that their colleague achieved with her longtime boyfriend, Martin Carlos Mwizerwa, who put a ring on her finger.
The engagement was private until other members of Mackenzie’s and Jeannine Noach, Ibrahim Cyusa’s ex-girlfriend, shared the news on different social media platforms.
"We are so proud of you. The countdown begins,” Naomi Ishimwe, Pamela’s cousin and Miss Rwanda 2020, captioned a picture of Pamela with a ring on her finger posted on Snapchat.
Mwizerwa, who is set to tie the knot with Pamela, was Naomi’s manager after she was crowned Miss Rwanda 2020.
The famous Mackenzie girls came into the limelight in 2018 after their signature music videos went viral and were highly recognised by artistes on social media platforms.
They are currently one of the top players in Rwanda’s fashion industry after founding Zoi fashion, a clothing line based in Kigali, Rwanda. Pamela is also Chief Marketing Officer of Zoi fashion.
The Kivumbi-Papa Cyangwe beef takes another twist
All is not well between rappers Papa Cyangwe and Kivumbi King after the two were involved in a row over who is better than another, music-wise.
Things took another twist when Papa Cyangwe dropped a bombshell that he can’t be compared to an artist of Kivumbi’s status given that they didn’t start music at the same time neither did their careers start the same way.
"He started in spoken word while I started entertaining people on Twitter,” Papa Cyangwe claimed.
One thing is for sure: the two are involved in a spat that will end only when they decide to cease fire.
Miss Muyango, Kimenyi’s salon up for sale
Former Miss Rwanda contestant Uwase Muyango and Kiyovu goalkeeper Yves Kimenyi were hailed for using their celebrity influence in marketing their own business. However, it only took eight months to sell the couple’s salon business even though people were expecting to see the couple making huge profits using their fame.
This came after the salon business started showing signs of losses, prompting the couple to sell it before things got worse.
Muyango is currently focused on hosting social events while Kimenyi’s duty remains unchanged: playing football.
The two are a happy couple that is blessed with a son.
