RWANDA’S junior national women football team will enter residential training camp on October 5 in preparation for their 2011 Fifa U-20 World Cup qualifier against Uganda.

The team will engage the She-Cranes in the preliminary round of the qualifiers on October 24 before hosting the side in a return leg two weeks later.

"They have been doing some training but will get down to serious business on October 5,” Ferwafa Chief Executive Officer Jules Kalisa said of the Rwandan side.

The winner will progress to face Zambia which got a bye in the first round at the start of December in Lusaka.

Other countries which got byes include; Botswana, Congo, Egypt, Ghana, Namibia, Nigeria, RD Congo, South Africa, Tunisia and Zimbabwe.

Sixteen teams will compete at the World Cup finals. Two-time defending world champions Germany are automatic qualifiers as hosts.
