RWANDA’S top two seeds Jean Claude Gasigwa and Dieudonne Habiyambere have been eliminated from the on-going Kampala Men’s Futures tennis tournament.

Habiyambere lost 4-6 3-6 to Czech Republic’s player Dennis Marko in the first round while Gasigwa was beaten 6-3, 6-0 by Nigeria’s Destiny Ford Da Silva in the second round of the qualification matches.

It was a continuation of the demise that has rocked local players in this competition.

Last week, the country’s top seed, Gasigwa succumbed to a premature exit from the Rwf5.65m Kigali leg after going down 6-3, 6-4 against Great Britain’s Philip Barlow.

Habiyambere, who won a wildcard for the Kampala leg did not even make the main draw after being eliminated in the qualification round.

Sheraton Kampala Hotel has sunk Frw8.47m in the week-long event that concludes this Saturday. The Futures circuit wraps up next week with the third leg in Nairobi.
