GICUMBI - Muslims have been called upon to preach the gospel of love and unity among Rwandans.
The call was made last Sunday by Sheikh Yassin Habimana, during celebrations to mark Idi el Fitri at Gacurabwenge primary school.
"You should emulate Prophet Mohammed’s teachings of love and humility during the course of carrying out your daily activities”, said Sheikh Habimana.
Sheikh Habimana further called upon Muslims to assist the poor and other vulnerable members of society, by giving them food during the Idi el Fitri celebrations.
He urged them to desist from acts that divide Rwandans. "We should all thrive to make the world a better place to live because that is what God expects out of us”, added Habimana.
Over 3000 Muslims from Yaramba, Byumba and Buyaga Mosques thronged Gacurabwenge Primary School for t he IdI el Fitri prayers.
"Other Gicumbi District Muslims are conducting similar celebrations in Gatuna, Gaseke, Rutare, Bwisige and Rugogwe sites”, said the Imam of Byumba Muslim Community Hussein Habyarimana.
