Makuza launches local radio

The Prime Minister, Bernard Makuza, Thursday launched a local radio in Musanze district during his 4-day tour in the Northern Province.

While addressing residents, he emphasized the need to use the development programmes for the purpose of education in various issues.

He also called upon the residents to help in the construction of classrooms for the 9-year basic education that are needed in the district.

Musoni meets entrepreneurs

The Minister for Cabinet Affairs, Protais Musoni met entrepreneurs and district officials in Nyamasheke on Thursday to discuss future plans for the district.

This was during his 3 – day visit to the district.
Musoni urged the entrepreneurs to work hard and save for their future development programmes.

Two arrested over Akagera fires

Police in Kayonza arrested the two people in connection with the recent fires that destroyed over 800 hectares of Akagera National Park.

The two suspects confirmed that they had been paid to start the fire by other people because wanted to create space for cultivation.

Acting Commissioner of Police, Mary Gahonzire warned residents living in areas surrounding the Eastern province-based park that they will be held responsible for any more encroachment on the park.
