NYAMAGABE - World Vision-Rwanda on Thursday donated an assortment of equipment to community health volunteers from Nyamagabe and Nyaruguru districts. The donations are meant to facilitate the beneficiaries in their areas of work.
The equipment worth over Rwf 2.5 million included 40 bicycles and 80 health kits that the organization provided to its volunteering partners within its health sector projects.
Ben Kabera, the Southern region coordinator for World Vision-Rwanda said that the equipment will enable volunteers to perform their duties more easily.
"With these bicycles, you will be able to coordinate your health activities in a better way,” Kabera noted. He warned the beneficiaries against selling off donated equipment.
Beneficiaries welcomed the donation and vowed to use them as required to help other residents through sensitization tours in their respective villages.
"The donation of bicycles is an answer to transport problems that we have been facing,” Domina Mukamuhirwa, one of the beneficiaries said.
Immaculée Mukarwego, the district Vice Mayor in charge of social affairs, commended World Vision-Rwanda for its continuous contribution to the district’s development, especially in the fields of education and health.
