BY GODWIN AGABADetained Brig. Gen. (Rtd) Sam Kanyemera Kaka, also MP, and Brig. Gen. Frank Rusagara will appear before the Military Tribunal today.According to Military Spokesman Maj. Jill Rutaremera, the two generals are accused of "attempt to sabotage police operations.”The two men are suspected to have warded off three police officers from arresting city tycoon Assinapol Rwigara during a funeral function in Kabusunzu, a city suburb.Police and judicial authorities had been looking for Rwigara to answer charges over his construction site that killed three and injured five workers last month. Kaka was arrested on August 9, eight days after Rusagara had been apprehended. They were both arrested on suspicion of having sabotaged police efforts to arrest Rwigara on July 27.However, Martin Ngoga, the Prosecutor General yesterday told journalists that generals’ arrests could be related to others charges not Rwigara.Ngoga was speaking to journalists outside his office after handing over Rwigara to police. Rwigara had presented himself to Ngoga earlier in the day, ending weeks of speculation about his whereabouts.Ends
