Jean Rushayigi is the Headmaster of Glory Senior Secondary School. He has the responsibility to ensure smooth running of all the school activities and more. Below he tells us how he spends his typical day:
I wake-up at 5a.m and have breakfast soon after.
At about 7a.m, after listening to current affairs from different radio stations, I set off for work. By 7:45a.m, I must be conducting the school assembly.
At about 8a.m, I carry out an inspection to ensure that both teachers and students are in their respective classes.
I then get in to my office to make reports for the morning. If I happen to have a meeting with district officials, I arrange for that.
I normally have lunch after ensuring that students have had theirs. I work until 4:30p.m when the school closes. Straight away I head home for refreshment and take my children through some lessons.
Of course I relax a bit while reading newspapers. I normally have supper at 8p.m and continue with some private work at home.
After finishing with whatever I had to, I pray with my family. Latest I get to bed is 11p.m.
