Ferwafa technical director Michael Weiss made a successful trip to the Southern Province where he has been training with young players from various soccer development centers in the area.

Speaking to Times Sport, the German born tactician said that his trip in the Province was aimed at assessing the level of youth training activities in various soccer development centers working in that area of the country.

He noted that through such program, the country through the national football federation make stringent measures on how to develop and promote young players right from the grassroot levels.

"I want to focus on youth football development all around the country and my trip this Province has highlighted me on what is required to carry out my responsibilities,” he said
Weiss conducted several training sessions in youth development centers in Butare and Nyanza teaching coaches and players in football basic skills.

The former Germany international highlighted that the country has a lot of young players with potential to become the future stars but need to be developed early enough if they to take something from their potential.

He noted that most football development centres in the country lack the basic training equipment like balls and cones but promised to work hard to boast them (centres).

Weiss who inspired successful training trip for the U-18 national team in Germany revealed that he needs coherent cooperation from local leaders and top sports officials in the country in order to achieve his and Ferwafa’s ambitions as far developing football in Rwanda is concerned.
