Following her victory in the African Miss Tourism of the Millennium held on 3rd November in Ethiopia where she emerged 3rd; and also 6th in the world, it’s highly speculated that 20-year-old Karine Rusaro Utamuriza, who also holds the Miss Butare will participate in the Miss world beauty pageant, scheduled for 1st December, 2007, in Sanya, China.

Rusaro was nominated Miss Lovely, during the beauty pageant in Ethiopia that attracted different contestants across the world.

According to our scouts, it’s just a week before some 115 contestants arrive in the tropical island paradise of Sanya, the southernmost point of China.

Word will be held is that the event will be the biggest and most dynamic festival and finale in the 57 year old competition.
Building on its longstanding theme of "Beauty with a Purpose,” which has seen the Miss World Organisation raise over £250 million for charity, Miss World 2007 will be focusing on the fight against Aids.

1st December, when the grand final will take place, is also World Aids Day and during their stay the contestants will be helping to raise funds toward the building of medical centres across China.

Another speculator said this time, Miss World festival will be the Dynasties Fashion Show where contestants will appear in costumes from China’s greatest historic dynasties.

It promises to be one of the most visually stunning fashion shows ever staged. The Talent Final and Beach Fashion Show will be feature among other popular highlights.

The 57th Miss World is a celebration of beauty, culture, fashion, peace and understanding, set against a background of achievement and excellence, an example to young women all over the world of what they can accomplish.

It is about raising money for vital causes; bringing hope, uniting people and most of all using the Miss World Crown as a humanitarian symbol wherever it is needed.

China’s most iconic locations, The Great Wall, The Forbidden City and The Summer Palace, will be visited by the contestants who will experience the magic of Beijing as it gears up for the 2008 Olympics.

Meanwhile, this year’s Miss World in Sanya will be the fourth time that the Miss World finals take place at the venue; indicative of its magic location.

Raffiki to perform in Jamaica

At long last he has made his way to the real world of music. One of the country’s renowned local kings of hip hop and 2007’s winner of Pam Awards, Rafiki Mpazimaka, is set to make his journey to Jamaica, where he will be featuring Kinyarwanda music to the Jamaicans.

Meanwhile, our scouts recently spotted the vocalist rushing at Kanombe international air port, heading to Nairobi to record his new album, which will also be launched upon his return from the Land of rappers and Rastafarians (Jamaica).

The young star is reported to be treating his dreadlocks with a lot of pleasure and of course trying at all odds to exercise the foreign language (English), because he does not have enough money to hire a translate. Oops! I guess he’ll practice better.

However, it is also hypothesized, the artist is likely not to return, but instead remain to develop his career. Watch this space!!

Jolie working on new movie

News reaching the grapevine is that former professional model, who also participated in various beauty pageants in different countries of Europe, Claudine Murenzi (a.k.a Jolie), is currently working on a new movie called Zone Turquoise.

According to our scouts, the movie is set to be shot early next year (2008), it’s tale is about the 1994 Rwandan Genocide, which claimed a millions of lives.

The dashing and multi-lingual super model is said to be cooperating with a renowned production house Les Film du Poissons.

Super end -of-year bash in the making

Good news to all of party animals! Guess what? There is going to be a wide-ranging end of year knock!

Now, the talk around city is, one of the country’s huge companies is heard to get busier preparing for the bash that will bring together famous artists from different parts of the world to perform during this soon-to-be remarkable night.

Guess! It’s going to be remarkable…why not? And our scouts have learnt that some of the artists like: England’s DJ Kadli, New York’s DJ Bernard and East Africa’s celebrated DJ Penye have already confirmed. Others will include, DJs: Stylez, De Ju V, Rachael from Uganda and DJ Pendo from Tanzania.
