Fina bank injects Rwf0.6m in Schools cricket tourney

THIS year’s schools cricket tournament will go on as planned after receiving a cash boost of Rwf0.6m from Fina Bank. The package which also includes cricket balls and a first aid kit was Tuesday handed over to Rwanda’s cricket head Charles Haba by the bank’s managing director Steve Caley.

THIS year’s schools cricket tournament will go on as planned after receiving a cash boost of Rwf0.6m from Fina Bank.

The package which also includes cricket balls and a first aid kit was Tuesday handed over to Rwanda’s cricket head Charles Haba by the bank’s managing director Steve Caley.

This year, the tournament which runs from September 19 to October 11 has attracted nine boys’ teams and five girls’ teams.

The boys’ team are drawn into three pools; Pool A- defending champions ADB, APEDI and Kanombe’s Efotec, Pool B-UNR, APRED, Kicukiro College of Technology (KCT) while Pool C merges APADE, Kagarama Secondary School (KSS) and Lycee de Kigali.

In the girls section, Pool E involves APADE and reigning champions KSS while APRED, Lycee de Kigali and a Kigali select side (KSC) make up Pool E.

The tournament will be jointly held at Kicukiro cricket oval and Kagarama secondary school.
