As APR sack manager
SC KIYOVU has acquired the services of Bonaventure Hategikimana a.k.a Ganji and Eric Serugaba from rivals Rayon Sport and APR, two weeks before the end of the transfer window.
The old giants are believed to have spent Rwf2.5m on Hategikimana while Serugaba, who was surplus at league champions APR went for Rwf2m.
SC Kiyovu, who have kicked off their pre-season training at Mumena stadium have also been linked to Kibuye striker Pappy Nkunda as they look to strengthen their team ahead of the new season.
According to an inside source, the club want to challenge the big three; APR, Atraco and Rayon Sport.
Meanwhile, APR have sacked their manager Alphonse Gatera. Gatera who replaced Capt. Eric Ntazinda six months ago is said to have fallen out with the club president Brig.Gen. Alex Kagame.
Close sources to the club indicate that the two fell out because Gatera was siding with former club and Ferwafa boss Maj.Gen Ceaser Kayizare.
But Kagame reasoned that just like several APR players who have been released due to financial constraints, Gatera lost his job on the same grounds.
Gatera played for APR in 1998 before joining the Blues the following year. He later moved to Asia for greener pastures before returning towards the end of last year.
In a related development, Jean Baptista Mugiraneza ‘Migi’ and Ernest Kwizera have been tipped for professional trials in Germany.
The APR pair is believed to be preparing for trials at Bundesliga club FC Kolm but the club’s Secretary General Adolph Kalisa has been quick to question the motive of the trials.
"It doesn’t make much sense since the transfer window is already closed,” he said.
