RWANDA’S U-20 coach Obradovic Tomislav has backed his youngsters for a good outing in the upcoming Francophone Games in Beirut, Lebanon.
Tomislav noted that after a week of intensive training, the team is in the right shape for the two-week tournament.
"I have confidence in this team and I have no doubt that they will perform well in the games,” the Croat said before adding, "The boys have trained hard and look focused.”
Rwanda will open their campaign with a tricky tie against Mali on September 27. They will play West African giants Senegal on September 28 before winding up their preliminary campaign with a tough tie against Egypt (September 30).
The team, which has been jointly practising at Ferwafa and Kicukiro artificial turfs, jets out next Tuesday.
Away from football, Rwanda is also set to compete in table tennis, cultural dances and athletics.
The table-tennis team includes Steven Sibomana and Fotanine Mukamuhizi while Rwanda’s long distance ace Dieudonne Disi is expected to lead out a strong eight-man athletics team.
