Tomorrow September 16th, the world celebrates the World Ozone Day. This is a day that reminds every country about their responsibility to protect the earth from getting destroyed because of their activities.

These days, it is sad to know that the Earth’s natural environment is getting destroyed because of pollution.

This has resulted into worldwide global warming because the Ozone layer is destroyed.

The Ozone layer protects the earth from the harmful effects of the sun’s dangerous rays called UV (Ultra-Violet) rays.

These cause the earth to become very hot (global warming) and this affects the health of people, animals and plants.

Due to global warming, there are many wild fires like the ones that affected Nyungwe forest in July this year. These fires still affect other countries too, like in USA, Italy and Australia which over the past months have been trying to stop wild fires. Other countries are also suffering because of abrupt floods and droughts.

These are all results of climate change.
As responsible youth we have to learn to protect our environment by planting trees which reduce the effects of global warming.

Telling others about the importance of the environment is very important because they also become part of the big plan of combating climate change.

As you read, explore the different benefits of the environment and also know how to protect and save the Earth you live in by protecting the Ozone layer.
