Grizzlies 25-31 Urumuri

UNR Grizzlies preparations for the upcoming Buffaloes 10-aside tournament suffered a slump after losing 25-31 to Urumuri, the national university of Burundi.

Fabrice Nshimirimana and Clovis Ninahazwe led Urumuri’s scoring charts with five tries while Desire Munyaneza scored two penalties.

On Grizzlies side, the tries were scored by Ignace Nsanzimana (3), Octavien Maniteze (1) and Koko Cambara (1).

Grizzlies coach Alphonse Umugire blamed the defeat on lack of fitness but insisted that the team would be ready for the 10-aside event.

"We are still lacking when it comes to fitness but we hope to be in better shape for the 10-aside tournament,” he said.

"I must also commend Urumuri. They played as a unit.”
