RWANDA’S beach volleyball kings Jean Luc Mbonyuwonuma and Flavia Ndamukunda are in Kenya for the two-day Mombassa International Beach Volleyball tournament.
The event sponsored by the Kenyan Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports throws off this afternoon at Jacaranda Indian Ocean Beach Club.
The pair is part of 21 teams from East and Central Africa to grace the tourney.
Hosts Kenya have entered four men and women teams, Uganda has fielded three men and two women teams while Tanzania has sent two men and women sides.
Among the Kenya teams taking part include Mombasa Stima, who are to be represented by James Ondere and Dominic Kimboi.
Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) is represented by Patrick Owino and Joseph Waiganjo while Administration Police (AP) has fielded Timothy Emojoong and Paul Koech. Evans Mbeere and Mathew Mutahi represent Kenya Posta.
In the women’s fray, KCB ‘A’ has Margaret Indakhala and Dorcas Ndasaba.
The winners will pocket Rwf0.37m, runner-ups Rwf0.22m and third placed teams Rwf0.11m.
