AMAVUBI midfielder Albert Ngabo has joined APR in a two-year deal worth Rwf11.3m.
It is said that the ten-time league champions had to break the bank before luring Ngabo, who still had a one-year contract with his former club Rayon Sport.
After completing his move, the 19-year-old said, "I’m happy to join APR. Everybody knows what a big club they are.
"It’s also a big challenge for me to break into the first time but I’m ready to fight,” he noted.
Ngabo was arguably one of the Blues’ top performers last season. He has also been outstanding for the national team.
During Amavubi’s harsh 0-1 home defeat against African champions Egypt, Ngabo was outstanding on the left wing.
Ngabo becomes the third player to join the defending league champions after Jean Luc Ndayishimiye ‘Bakame’ (Atraco), Omar Hitimana (Uganda’s KCC) and Rodriquez Murengezi (Mukura). Murengezi pocketed Rwf4m as sign-on fee.
APR’s rivals Rayon have also boosted their squad with five new signings.
Former APR custodian Aime Ndanda Ndizeye is one of the players to 2004 league champions. Others include La Jeunesse’s Abouba Sibomana, Juma Bizimana of Electrogaz and the AS Kigali trio of Bonfils Twahirwa, Pappy Gasana and Eric Habimana.
