I have been a resident of Nyamirambo for the past three years. As an employee, who at times works up to as late as 10:00 pm, I have on occasions been chased by thieves in this notorious Kigali suburb, most especially at Nyamirambo Market.

While I was walking home yesterday night, the same group of idlers and marijuana smokers surrounded me and started demanding for money and ordered me to handover my telephone.

I was saved by a group of guys who were passing by who made them run away.

I don’t know if the area leaders have ever put into consideration people’s demands; people who have, on many occasions, reported these acts.

At this moment I would like to raise an alarm before these people start robbing even our houses- although it has already begun, albeit on a small scale.

I call upon the concerned authorities to come to our rescue before it turns from bad to worse.
