The Private Sector Federation (PSF) national wide elections have been pushed to unspecified later date, according to the available information.

Faustin Kananura Mbundu, the Vice Chairman of the umbrella arm of the business community in Rwanda said yesterday that the delay has been due to some members who have to register as associations but have not yet done so.

"As a board, we have to meet before the election to ensure that all requirements are met and the board has not yet convened,” said Mbundu.

The delay has also been attributed to the exhibition that coincided with the electoral preparations.

The federation’s election preparatory meetings started in April this year with an aim of sensitizing the voters on how the elections will be conducted. The objective of the elections is to concretize good governance in the private sector.

The election should have taken place after three months of country wide sensitization.

The elected members in all the organs of will replace the current leadership which came into office three years ago.

The elected leadership gets a three years mandate that takes place at all levels of leadership such as the district, province and at national level.
