After securing a $4500(Rwf. 2.5m) grant from the world tennis governing body ITF, RTF was still $5,500 short of $10,000, the standard prize money for the tournament but
"We want to extend our gratitude to Heineken for coming to our rescue.
We were running out of time since the tournament starts this Saturday,” RTF’s technical director Thierry Ntwali said.

After the Kigali leg, players will head to Kampala, Nairobi before winding up their circuit in Khartoum, Sudan. In these Futures, the top thirty all walk away with cash prizes.
In the singles category, the winner pockets a whooping $1,900 while the second and third bag $1,200 and $800 respectively.
