I would like to appeal to the Ministry of Sports and Culture to appreciate the few Rwandans who have been doing our country proud in Sports and more especially athletics.

Epiphanie Nyirabarame set a Rwandan record in the Marathon in the recently held Berlin World Athletics Championships, where she finished after 2 hours 33 minutes breaking the previous record of 2 hours 36 minutes.

Though she did not bring home a gold medal, her efforts should be appreciated as this will encourage her and many other young men and women to enter into sports as a career.

In other countries like Kenya, the athletes are welcomed home in great style. 

The same case applied to Uganda’s Dorcas Inzikuru. The President himself received her back home in style.

Let us appreciate these sportsmen; it’s a career like any other.
