Within Rwandan Showbiz in general and within the Pop genre in particular, Jules Murenzi introduces himself as the successor.
Murenzi, a.k.a M J was born in 1987, in Huye district, southern province. He studied in Ngoma Primary School, and later joined Petit Seminaire Baptiste.

He started his music career in 2002, as dancer, and later he wrote his debut song "Turengere Ibidukikije”.

Murenzi  has released eight songs. And "Nta munoza”, "Bimwereke”, "Ukuri?” and "Rubanda” are some of his tracks.
The New Times’ Eddie Claude Hakizimana spoke to him and he shared his music experience with his fans.

TNT: What is your challenge as a student and singer?

Murenzi: It is hard, because they are both important to me.But I always try to balance my time properly between my studies and music.

TNT: People say you sing and dance at the same time, how do you find this?

Murenzi: I am proud of that. I always want entertain my fans. Besides, dance is my passion.

TNT: How do you spend your weekend?

Murenzi: I spend my weekends working on my music.

TNT: When do you rest?

Murenzi: I hardly rest, but maybe at night, or when I don’t have much to do.

TNT: What is your favourite drink?

Murenzi: Juice and tea.

TNT: Any message to your fans?

Murenzi: I request all Rwandans to love and support their local musicians. Rwandan musicians will never achieve their dreams if Rwandans themselves don’t support them.

We have the talent and the potentials to produce better music, but we don’t have the support.
